WELCOME

To the Floyd's House.

During the pandemic, Trenell Floyd started to search for ways to grow organic food for his family and came across aquaponics.

After spending hours researching the benefits, he invested in a certification course from Murray Hallam, one of the best-known faces in the world-wide Aquaponics movement and owner of Practical Aquaponics Australia. After completing the course, Trenell decided to build his own system and explore aquaponics on his own with his wife and children.

After a year, the family went from 20 to over 400 Tilapia. Their garden is flourishing on the side of the house, and they're learning something new every day as a family. Now that they've experienced all the benefits of aquaponics, the family wants to raise awareness and teach others how to do the same. They truly believe aquaponics is everyone - and everyone can benefit from it no matter how big or small your garden space.

WHAT IS

AQUAPONICS?

Literally speaking, Aquaponics is putting fish to work. It just so happens that the work those fish do (eating and producing waste), is the perfect fertilizer for growing plants. And fish can grow a lot of plants when they get to work!

One of the amazing things about Aquaponics is that it mimics a natural ecosystem. Aquaponics represents the relationship between water, aquatic life, bacteria, nutrient dynamics, and plants which grow together in waterways all over the world. Taking cues from nature, aquaponics harnesses the power of bio-integrating these individual components: Exchanging the waste by-product from the fish as a food for the bacteria, to be converted into a perfect fertilizer for the plants, to return the water in a clean and safe form to the fish. Just like mother nature does in every aquatic ecosystem.

Aquaponics uses just 10% of the water needed for field-based farming.

WHY AQUAPONICS?

SERVICES

Ready to build a system or share aquaponics with your community?

We can bring our workshop to you or help you build a system at your property - let us know how we can work together to bring aquaponics to everyone. Here are ways we can grow together -

  • Host a Workshop

Want to share aquaponics with your students, church group, or community? We can take our workshop to your location and teach more people about aquaponics together.

  • Speaking Engagements

Growing up in L.A., Trenell never imagined he would be growing plants and raising fish. He is happy to share his story with young men on how to create a different mindset centered on growth and learning, and what aquaponics has taught him about life.

  • Design and Build

  • Ongoing Maintenance

Once your system is up and running, you'll want to make sure your water levels are balanced, your fish are well fed, and your plants are thriving. Similiar to your pool, our services can keep your system flourishing if you are too busy or go out of town for the week.
